Most Bichon ailments are minor and are easily treated at home
but if in doubt always consult a vet.

Good for humans and dogs!

Every home should have one .. or more .. of these cacti - they are the producers of Aloe Vera ointment - if you have a burn or cut just break off part of the fleshy leaf and rub the sticky saliva over the affected area.

They propagate easily - you can see a "baby" in front of the main plant

All information given on the site is believed to be accurate - but please remember that every bichon is different and the medical comments and any advice given is designed to help - but it is not intended to replace the expertise of your vet.

White dogs have sensitive skin which is prone to "hot spots" or "itchies". We suggest that you read the information on  the Bichon Frisé Club of America web site.

We know people who use Aloe Vera, Listerine or Witch Hazel for itchies. - Miltons for tear stains - a "dollop of natural yoghurt in their food" to combat ear infections. Do you use natural products? if so tell us about them ..

We have a report from the USA that the worst offenders for causing itching in animals and humans are:
Bounce dryer strips to soften clothes.
Tide detergent.
Bold detergent.
Strong perfumes on owners hands.
